Younger Looking Skin In 8 Simple Ways

Every single day each one of us is getting older by the minute and so is our body. Time will soon catch up and steal our youth as soon as it can before we know it. And sometimes it is not possible to be completely aware of the various substances that are harming our skin and body. It may not always be dust and dirt. It may be the sun, our diet or even our daily routine that is affecting us in a subtle yet major way. We must take a few yet very simple steps and make changes in our lifestyle to keep looking young and vibrant. Not only on our outer appearance but also changes from within can show a huge difference. Here are some tips to help you keep that youthful look of yours for as long as possible.

How To Look Younger & Stay Beautiful Naturally?

1. Water, water everywhere!

We have heard it before and always will, drink more water. Water is extremely essential for our body as it cleanses our internal body and hydrates our skin. It helps in transferring all the waste materials outside the body as well as maintains a normal flow of blood throughout the body. When the skin is hydrated, it’s less likely to crack and let in external substances like dust, dirt and germs enter. All of these can cause irritation, blemishes and breakouts. Water is also said to be balancing our oil and water concentration. When we drink more water, it keeps excessive oil in control. This oil (especially during summer and monsoon season) tends to mix with our sweat when we perspire and give rise to pimples and clogs our pores. Therefore, we must drink at least eight glasses of water every day to stay healthy and take care of our skin.

2. Don’t forget your vitamins!

Vitamins are essential for your body and also help you take care of your skin in many ways. Take vitamin A for example. It is usually found in night creams and lotions. It helps in reducing wrinkles and smoothens your skin. You may consume it in your meals by adding carrots or green leafy vegetables. Vitamin C is another common example and proven to be very beneficial for your skin. Not only does it protect you from diseases, it also protects you from harmful UV rays. This results in making your skin look smooth and spotless!

3. A cup of tea perhaps?

Yes, you read it right and you know how easily available it is. Tea, or more particularly Green tea, has anti-aging and antioxidant benefits. It helps in delaying signs of skin aging. It also improves your skin complexion and helps in flushing out toxins from the skin. It even improves the skin’s elasticity which means it helps in reducing wrinkles and fine lines. In case you are not a big fan of the taste of the tea, you may use it directly on your eyes too. This leads me to the next tip!

4. Home Spa

By ‘home spa’ I do not necessarily mean to call up a personal masseuse or a beautician to your house. You can use a lot of products you keep in your kitchen or store rooms for a spa-like treatment. Here are some suggestions:

  • Tea Bags

As mentioned before, tea contains a lot of antioxidants and these help in treating puffy eyes and dark circles. Just make the tea bags damp and let them cool down. Put them over your eyes like you would usually put cucumbers on other days, and let the magic happen!

  • Honey

Honey can be used for taking care for dry, cracked lips. It helps to heal wounds and hydrate parched skin. It is also used as a home remedy for sore throat, just a little tip in case you want to keep off those meds.

  • Avocado

Avocados are rich in healthy fats and vitamins C and E. As we already talked about how beneficial are vitamins for your skin and your body, you can use avocados as face scrubs. You may mix avocados with oatmeal, honey or yoghurt! Each of its counterpart has its own benefits and all helps in cleansing and gives a result of a glowing skin.

5. Work it out!

Yes, you must! You do not need to go to extreme level and do difficult workouts all at once. Nevertheless, I do suggest you do a little exercise which involves movement and sweating. Exercising makes the heart pump more for blood which leads to a healthy and normal blood flow throughout your body. This makes your skin glow and toned.

6. Skin care routine

Skin care routine is a must if you want to really take care of your skin now. You need not pay too much focus on the routine but must remember to follow the routine every once in a while. The routine may include moisturizing, scrubbing or exfoliating your skin. Daily moisturizing is the best defense against dry skin. When you exfoliate, you’re evening out the skin’s surface by revealing the fresh cells underneath.

7. Protect yourself

Do not take the sun rays too lightly. They contain extremely harmful rays or Ultra Violet rays (UV rays) which penetrate your skin and can cause burns, cracks and roughness to your skin. You must consider using sunscreen products with SPF for protection. This will lead to a good looking, smooth skin later in the future.

8. Proper sleep schedule

Not getting enough sleep can cause stress and feeling of fatigue. This leads to breakouts and a dull complexion. You may not feel like making efforts for your skin the next morning too and this can continue to become a habit later on in the future. Do not take your nap time and hours of slumber for granted as sleep uses that time to regenerate and recover from the activities of the day.

All these may seem overwhelming and you probably must be thinking, “Who has the time for of this?” But I guarantee you that once you get a hang of it, you will not even notice it. It will become a part of your daily routine. The only change you will notice is not the effort you’re making, but the way your skin will glow effortlessly! No need to follow all these at once. Take small steps, day by day, and make changes little by little and you’ll see a more younger looking skin. It can involve walking to your workplace, college, school, etc, always keeping a glass of water next to you, sneaking a quick cat-nap for a few minutes, or even having a fruit for a snack. Remember that it’s the little efforts made in life which result into big changes.
